CERBERO was an H2020 European project coordinated by IBM ISRAEL – SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY that brought together a consortium of 12 partners. CERBERO has developed a continuous design environment for adaptive CPS, reactive to different types of triggers. This environment combines modelling, deployment and verification tools, interconnected to provide superior complementary features. CERBERO follows an industry-driven approach: technical specifications are defined starting from the project use-cases and their needs. Selected use-cases covered a wide spectrum of technologies and needs, spanning across computing approaches and going from the needs of an Embedded Computing Platform to those of a System: an embedded CPS with self-healing capabilities for planetary explorations (TASE-S&T), an ocean monitoring CPSoS (AS), and a Smart Travelling CPSoS for Electric Vehicle (TNO-CRF-S&T).
Abinsula contribution to the CERBERO was related to tool integration, in particular with the Integration of the Cerbero holistic approach. In this context, Abinsula actively collaborated in the development of the CERBERO Interoperability Framework (CIF). CIF leveraged a simplified ontology-based data integration approach to combine data or information from multiple heterogeneous sources. The main goal behind CIF was to enable interoperability between computing services/processing entities in an efficient and transparent way. Abinsula was also involved in the development of the Electric Vehicle use case providing all the necessary support for the usage of the different tools and test environment belonging to the CERBERO framework.
